Dr. Gary Schlifer is one of the top doctors in the country, specializing in health, nutrition, and holistic care. He gives some important basic kids nutrition information that parents should know, because nothing is more important than what kids are putting in their bodies as their muscles and cells are growing everyday.

KIDS STRETCHING

It is so Important and Vital for parents to help their kids stretch at a young age, especially since their muscles are growing and getting stronger every day, its important to make the muscles grow properly and to their full potential. It also helps with their speed, coordination, balance, and less likely for injury. You can start slowly stretching you kids as young as 2 years old.

After teaching kids for 20 years, I leave learned the basic principles to motivate kids to work hard and do their best and get to their goals. Here are some tips on how to motivate your kids at a young age to work on getting stronger, healthier, and being more active.

Here are some Fitness tips on how to help your kids work on learning how to do Pull-Ups and Chin ups at home, which are one of the top ways in strengthening their upper bodies. You can start as young as 3 years old, it’s never to early to build a strong foundation.

PREVENTING BULLYING

Here I wanted to talk to you guys about a very important issue that goes on in school and in the everyday world, which is Bullying. There are no exact steps to eliminate bullying, but here’s some advice I can give you after having taught Martial Arts to kids for over 20 years help fighting this bullying problem.

FUN KIDS YOGA

One of the top yoga instructors in the country, Rina Jakubowicz, creator of the kid’s yoga program Super Yogis, introduces parents to a fun way to have your kids work on stretching through fun animal poses. This is more towards the younger kids 3 and up starting to work on their coordination, balance, and stretching those growing muscles, and have fun doing it.

BUILD YOUR KIDS REFLEXES

Here’s a fun game you can do at home with your kids to work on their reaction time, their reflexes, their speed and their focus. Easy to learn and very effective, have a fun time doing it.

HOW TO MAKE PLANKING FUN

Planking is literally one of the BEST ways to help build muscles and create a stronger foundation not only in kids but everyone. But it is boring to most, so here’s few tips to get your kids motivated to do planking at home with adding a reward system and making it a competition.

MORE ADVANCED PLANKING

In this segment Master Shervin Ilbeig shows how we can make the planking a little more difficult through Star Planks that will build even stronger core muscles and strengthen the entire body.

LEARNING HOW TO BRIDGE

This is very effective and great way to help build shoulder and back strength and flexibility in your kids. We do this in all my Kids classes, and it really helps build strong back muscles, especially if you are getting your kids ready for Gymnastics.

IMPORTANT SELF-DEFENSE TECHNIQUE

Here Master Fariborz Azhakh, whose my Sensei, shows a very important Martial art concept and technique that everyone should know, not just martial artist. This can help not only deescalate a situation, but help protect yourself. I would highly recommend watching.

THE HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PALM STRIKE

After learning how to go into your defensive stance for the previous video, here’s how to teach your kids and adults how to do a palm strike, which is one of the most effective and easiest strikes to learn. This is a great tool for everyone.

HOW TO GET SOMEONE OFF YOU

If I could only teach 3 things to people in Martial Arts, it would be the defensive stance, the palm strike (which were in previous videos) and this technique in getting someone off of you on the ground. God forbid something bad happens and someone is one top of you, this could be a life saving technique.

TEACHING THE TAKE DOWN

Here’s a basic technique you can practice with your kids in how to take someone down and control them if your ever in bad situation. It’s a fun exercise to practice with the kids, make sure to have open and soft landing space.

WORKING ON COORDINATION AND BUILDING MUSCLES

Here are some beginning drills that I do in all my beginner classes that work not only their coordination, but helps build important body muscles. You can do these anywhere, all you need are some cones or anything that can be used as a divider. You can start working on these on kids as young as 2 years old

COORDINATION AND BUILDING MUSCLES INTERMEDIATE

Here are some intermediate drills that I love working on with my older kid students, we just added a litte more difficulty than the beginner drills. This is really great for footwork and building all around muscles, and getting the heart going.

In this segment Liz Kover, who’s been working with animal-assisted therapy with kids and adults for over 24 years, shows how effective it could be having the presence of an animal during therapy session for kids, teens, and adults. It really helps kids relax and open up more. Here’s what she had to say.

BUILDING A STRONGER CORE

Here Master Shervin Ilbeig shows a new fun way to do crunches to build a stronger core in both kids and adults with Star Crunches, that you can do at home. Adding this to their routine will make for a stronger core and a stronger foundation.

BUILDING STRONGER LEGS

Here Master Shervin shows a new variation of how to do lunges to really build your leg muscles all around through Star Lunges. These are great for kids and adults, and remember, most of our power comes from our legs so its important to work on Kids leg muscles early in life to build a strong foundation and give them more power and strength.

REACTION AND FOCUS GAME

Here’s another fun game you can do with your kids home that will really help with their focus and reaction time. All you need is paper and colored pens. This is great for ages 3 and up to work on their mind and body working together, and focusing on numbers and colors all while building strong foundation muscles.

IMPORTANCE OF HIKING WITH THE FAMILY

I truly believe that one of the most important and best things a family can do together is go hiking together. Not just for family bonding, but there are so many benefits from going hiking in nature, and it’s one of the top things I recommend for families.

IMPORTANCE OF PLAYING

In this segment Dr. Kayvan and I explain why its so important to just go out and Play. Sometimes as adults we forget how to just play and mess around and have fun, and this is a little reminder for parents to take their kids to the park and play, have fun and sweat

MEDITATION FOR KIDS

Many people think it would be impossible for Kids to sit still and meditate, and most people would be right if you try to do an adult meditation with them. Here’s a fun way to do a guided meditation with your kids, it only takes a few minutes and it can really be beneficial for kids, since we know meditation helps with focus, less stress, better mood, better sleep, and ability to deal with their anger better.

FIGHTING THE KIDS OBESITY CRISIS

My goal for Family Fitness Revolution which I worked on for years was to help fight the obesity crisis in the U.S, and help parents with their kids at home to build strength and confidence. When the pandemic hit and kids were out of school and activities, I realized it’s never been more important and crucial for parents to help their kids be strong, healthy, active, confident, and build a stronger immune system, and that is what my goal is with FFR.
